Andrea Bocelli was born on Sept. 22, 1958, and he is an Italian tenor. He was born with poor eyesight and became blind at the age of 12. He sings adult contemporary classical, easy listening, Latin pop, opera and operatic pop.
He is also an accomplished musician and plays the keyboard, flute, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, harp and harmonica, guitar, drums and melodica. His voice is easy listening and you could enjoy his singing all day. He sings with a soft sounding opera and not the screaming that most opera sings are known for. He has been criticised for his style and soft sound. He is known around the world and has many recordings.
He has received some unfavorable reviews from classic music critics here in the United States. Bernard Holland of the New York Times and Andrew Clement of the Guardian, pointed to his poor phrasing and uneven tone with a lack of technique. He does not sing with the loud shouting voice of most opera singers.
He studied law at the University of Pisa, where he earned his degree in law. He sang at piano bars to earn money and pay to go to school. After his completion of his law degree he practiced for one year.
He married Enrica Cenzatti when he was singing at the piano bars in June 1992. They have two children, and they separated in 2002.
Andrea Bocelli currently lives with his girlfriend, and manager, Veronica Berti. They are expecting a baby girl in the spring of 2012. They live in a villa that used to be a hotel, on the Mediterranean, with a recording studio in the residence. Being a famous opera singer would make it a fascinating venture for any women to live with him. It is difficult to imagine with so much talent and practice that you would have to love music yourself.

Nell he is one of the world's most outstanding opera singers as well as plays many instruments. Don't forget that he was blind at the age of 12 years old, and never gave up. He also went to college and became a lawyer, I guess reading braille. How many of us would have given up and just sat. I majored in (3) instruments, piano, violin, and the organ. I was 1st chair violinist, and wanted to go to college and major in music. My parents said no, that is no way to earn a living, be a teacher, nurse, or secretary. So I did. They always thought money.
Bocelli has a smoothing kind of voice and not a shouting kind of voice, that is why I adore his singing.
