Catholic Charities resolve the Problem of Civil Unions - New Agency - Part II
69What are Kids Thinking!
Problem solved over Civil Unions & Foster Children
The Catholic Charities have solved their problem on what to do about giving up taking in more Foster Kids. What to do with the 300 plus children that they have been helping through their agency. The point is they have been helping with the charity of people and Foster Care for over 100 years. They were around long before other agencies got involved. The State of Illinois's Attorney General Lisa Madigan was looking to see if they were in violation by denying Gays, Lesbians, and Homosexuals the right to foster care or adoption. In this case I think that they did the right thing, get out of the business for the present time.
I am sure that they are in pain to stop serving children, being a charity church organization. I think that is a matter of identity. I know that being a foster parent, the agency comes to my home unannounced. They sometimes come a couple times a week. They also check on the kids at school. This is not a case of getting rid of the kids, they exhibit tight control on the children. They want to make sure that proper care is being given and if the kids have any concerns. There are also caseworkers involved, psychiatrist privately, and at school. In a lot of cases they can and will remove the children if they feel that it is not a good match.
I understand that Civil Union are wanted by the Gay community, but there are a lot of things going on in the background. Meanwhile we have not heard anything from the parents of the children. Some think that they should return their kids to them, and not gay couples. There will probably be more disputes in the near future.
The Catholic Charities will be turning their children over to an out of town agency. The transition is starting right away. The name of the agency taking the caseload is based out of Ottawa, IL . They have a good reputation as being one of the top agency in providing proper care for Foster Children. The Illinois Dept. of Children and Family Services made the announcement that Youth Service Bureau of Illinois Valley will be taking over the caseload. They will be receiving over 7 million dollars in funding. Another good move is that current employees will not lose their jobs.
The goal is to keep satellite offices in Aurora, Elgin, and Rockford. The employment of over 58 person will be retained on payroll. The transition is expected to take place with the next 2 weeks, before the fiscal year's beginning in July.
The question is did the State of Illinois do the right thing is permitting Gay Civil Unions? How far do they intend to go with the planned orchestration of Civil Unions. A majority of politicians are gay and are behind Civil Unions and Gay Marriages.
On the other hand there is freedom of religion under the constitution in the United States, we are protected to practice our religion as we choose, according to the Bible, or Judaism, or Muslims. I hope that some where the fighting ceases, and the feeling that I want it my way will stop!
Lives of children are at stake, and personal preferences should be put aside. People should be asking themselves, do we have the right to influence other people's children, just because they are poor and can't help themselves.
What influence will Gay Couples have on innocent children, will they think that Gay is the thing to do?
Children are innocent bystanders!

If that were true, then children of bus drivers would all grow up to be bus drivers, children of stock brokers would all grow up to be stock brokers. Except that doesn't happen. What does happen is that most children of bus drivers grow up believing that driving a bus is something worthy of respect, that it isn't wrong, that people do it and aren't somehow less than human.
If the same thing happens to homosexuals, I'll consider that a good thing, thank you very much.
Yes, it IS about the children. It's about the family. It's about growing up without prejudice for your neighbor simply because they believe differently than you. It's about growing up without fear that someone is going to persecute you because you think differently than they do, and without the silly notion that what goes on in your neighbors house is somehow threatening to you for no other reason than the fact that it takes place.
Yeah, that would be a REALLY tough world to live in.

Your welcome. This entire argument about marriage is why I think marriage should be removed as a legal construct and given to religion to do whatever they wish to it. I don't have the right to tell a priest what rituals he can and can't perform.
Legal protections should require a legal contract, not a religious one. Adoption should be modified to include what marriage does now and no reference to the sex of the partners should be used (or even the word 'marriage', in my opinion). Problem solved.
